About the Program

The Master's degree in Multidisciplinary Human Rights (MDHR) is a comprehensive and interdisciplinary program designed to provide a deep understanding of the theory, practice, and challenges of human rights in various contexts. Our faculty, renowned experts in the field, will guide students through a diverse range of topics, including international human rights law, human rights advocacy, humanitarian law, social justice, gender equality, and more.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Law students (LLM option): Open to individuals with an LLB degree or equivalent
  • Non-law students (MPhil option): Open to non-lawyers with at least an Honours degree, in exceptional cases, a Bachelor’s degree is considered when coupled with years of experience in human rights work. The relevant course content, coupled with practical sessions, provide students with hands-on knowledge on applying human rightts training to solve social issues in society. Application Deadlines

  • International Students: Applications must be submitted by 31 August 2023.
  • South African Students: Applications must be submitted by 30 September 2023.
