Experience:
Nine years of design and coordination of Sexual and Reproductive Rights programmes. Additionally, I have four years of experience in organisational development, particularly for feminist organisations. For the past eight years I have used creative arts as a medium for engaging sexual and reproductive health and rights in social and political spaces.

Academic fields of interest:

      Experience:
      I have over ten years experience in design, development, management, monitoring and evaluation of health related programs. I previously worked as a National program Coordinator with the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Alliance (SRHR Alliance Uganda). I also worked as a Senior program officer for HIV/AIDS, T.B and Malaria program with the social services department (Planning Development and Rehabilitation) of the Church of the Province of Uganda. Between 2005-2007 I worked as a Program’s Director with Education As A Vaccine Against AIDS inc (EVA) based in ABUJA, Nigeria an organization aimed at establishing systems and structures that provide opportunities for youth to make responsible decisions concerning their development and utilizes youth friendly approaches to provide information, services as well as develop advocacy initiatives through partnerships with other affinity groups. In 2004 till 2007 I joined the VSO team in Nigeria where i provided technical support to the VSO country HIV/AIDS program. The program aimed at building capacity of VSO volunteers and VSO partner organizations to develop and mainstream HIV/AIDS activities in their work.

        I was born in Maseru, Lesotho

        Academic qualifications:
        I have a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with the National University of Lesotho. In 2016, I obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) in Human Rights-Sexual and Reproductive Rights in Africa with the Center for Human Rights, University of Pretoria.

        Experience:
        I have experience working as an advocate of the Courts of Lesotho. I also have eight years’ experience working with international human rights law. I possess experience in research, drafting and compilation of National Human Rights State Party Reports, which have been presented before the African Committee of Experts of the Rights and Welfare of the Child and various treaty monitoring bodies of the United Nations. Over a period of seven years, I have been interacting with the African Commission on Human and People’s Rights and its special mechanisms. I also have experience in organizing human rights trainings and workshops, popularizing national laws with human rights content, through awareness raising campaigns. Since 2009, I have been a deputy chair of the Inter-Sectoral Committee on Human Rights, which oversees the implementation of Lesotho’s international obligations under human rights.

        Academic fields of interest:
        I have an interest in women and adolescents reproductive rights including contraceptive services, access to safe abortion, sexuality education, HIV/AIDS and reproductive rights as well as strategic litigation of the right to health.

          Country / Where did you grow up:
          Botswana. I grew up in different villages and in Gaborone.

          Academic qualifications:
          Master of Laws –LLM in Sexual and Reproductive Rights in Africa, from the University of Pretoria, South Africa
          Bachelor of Laws – LLB, from the University of Botswana.

          Experience:
          I am an admitted Attorney, Conveyancer and Notary Public of the High Court of Botswana. with 7 years experience as an attorney, and a human rights lawyer.
          Attorney - Chibanda Makgalemele and Company 2010- July 2012.
          Private legal practitioner with a focus on family law and commercial law.
          Legal Advisor- Botswana Network on Ethics Law and HIV/AIDS (BONELA) August 2012- October 2015. My role was multifaceted and focused amongst others on; policy and law reform, advocacy, awareness raising, lobbying, strategic impact litigation on health and HIV issues, medical malpractice, provision of legal services, sexual minorities and key populations.
          Botswana Legal Officer Consultant - Minority Rights Group International (MRG) November 2015- June 2016. My role involved advocacy for recognition of tribal minorities groups in Botswana, empowerment of 7 non recognised tribes in Botswana and human rights and literacy trainings. Additionally, I worked with local partners to advance the rights of tribal and indigenous groups in Botswana.
          I currently work for the Law Society of Botswana, as a Legal Officer. I am responsible for regulation and admission of legal practitioners in Botswana, advocacy on human rights as well as promotion and protection of the rule of law In Botswana.
