The Centre for Human Rights is assisting the African Commission Working Group on Extractive Industries, Environment and Human Rights (Working Group) in a project to gather information on and investigate the impacts of the extractive industries sector in Africa.

The Extractive Industries Database is an ongoing research project, funded and supported by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, aimed at gathering national case law and laws pertaining to the extractive industries in Africa. The main purpose of the research is to support the African Commission Working Group on Extractive Industries, Environment and Human Rights, but in addition provides access to case law, laws and regulations that are useful when working in the field of extractive industries.

Practitioners, civil society groups, or researchers interested in contributing to the database are welcome to contact Danny Bradlow for more details.
