Alumni of the Master's programme in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa (HRDA) contribute to the work of various international bodies across the world. This page highlights the campaigns for our alumni who are either vying for membership or have been appointed to these international bodies.
Some of these bodies include various mechanisms within intergovernmental organisations and international courts and tribunals like the United Nations, African Union, the International Criminal Court (ICC), the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and many others.

Support for Professor Diala (HRDA Class of 2007), a candidate from Nigeria for the Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent.
Justice Miatta Maria Samba
Justice Miatta Maria Samba (HRDA Class of 2001) was elected to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in December 2020 and will take her seat from early 2021. More information can be found here.
Professor Benyam Dawit Mezmur
Professor Benyam Dawit Mezmur (HRDA Class of 2005) was re-elected to the membership of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC) in November 2020.
