 AU Summit came at a time when forced displacement remains a major issue con
 fronting the African continent. More than a third of the world’s forcibly d
 isplaced people are in Africa, including 6.3 million refugees and asylum-se
 ekers and 14.5 million internally displaced people. \n\n\nThe CSO Foru
 m will deliberate on the AU 2019 theme ‘Year of Refugees, Returnees and IDP
 s: Towards Durable Solutions to Forced Displacement in Africa’, which came 
 at a perfect time to urge leaders and civil society to act fast in protecti
 ng refugees, migrants displaced persons. The aim of the forum is to explore
  avenues for countering xenophobic violence in various parts of Africa, enh
 ance protection for refugees in various parts of the continent and mobilise
  effectively in protecting displaced populations. \n\n\nEvent Informat
