HRDA Bahati Msosa

Ms Bahati Msosa | Blantyre, Malawi

Bachelor of Laws (Honors) University of Malawi

Previous experience

I am a Senior Legal and Prosecutions Officer at the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Malawi, where I prosecute corruption cases and recover assets through Non-Conviction Based Asset Forfeiture. I handle both litigation and investigative support, representing the ACB in civil proceedings and prosecuting corruption and related offences before Malawian courts, including the Supreme Court.

Before joining the ACB, I practised law at Masumbu & Company Legal Practitioners, JB Suzi & Company Legal Practitioners, and United General Insurance Company Limited, gaining extensive experience in civil and criminal litigation, insurance law, and corporate advisory services. My background in private practice strengthened my expertise in legal strategy, courtroom advocacy, and dispute resolution.

Beyond litigation, I am a human rights activist and Research and Grants Coordinator for the Women Lawyers Association (WLA), where I provide pro bono legal aid and advocate for gender justice and anti-child marriage initiatives. I am also a YALI RLC SA alumna, which refined my leadership in governance, legal reform, and policy advocacy. My work in anti-corruption, human rights, and gender justice is driven by a commitment to advancing accountability, economic justice, and access to legal services in Malawi.
