Originally from Ethiopia, Elim  holds a Bachelors of Arts in International Politics and a certificate in Human Needs and Global Resources from Wheaton College in IL, USA. She has spent time as a legal intern for a Latin American NGO where she conducted research analyzing the legal protections for women and children vulnerable to family violence, domestic violence and femicide. In 2018 and 2019 she published her research in the Midwestern Political Science Association as well as the International Conference of Gender and Women’s Studies hosted in Malaysia. Elim also spent some time serving as a case manager for undocumented child migrants who crossed the southern Mexican border and reunited them with their families in the United States. She most recently founded a non-profit aiming to unite African and African - Diaspora communities across the world to come together to catalyse the flourishing of the global African community. Elim hopes to leverage the Masters of Human Rights and Democratisation to further advance her vision that initially fed her non-profit, and to deepen her values that were already embedded from her prior work experience: that a united African people, with truth and kindness at the centre, can become the beacon of change for humanity at large.
