Mr Solomon C Jatta | Kartong Village, The Gambia
Bachelor of Laws (University of The Gambia), Barrister At Law (The Gambia Law School)
Previous experience
I graduated from The University of The Gambia and obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons) in 2017. I subsequently proceeded to The Gambia Law School where I graduated with a Barrister At Law Professional Degree as a competent person to practice Law. I was called to The Gambian Bar in 2017 and enrolled in 2021.
Before I was enrolled as a Lawyer, I have worked at Dandimayo Law Chambers as a Pupil Barrister. After enrolment, I worked at Maribantang Law Chambers as a Junior Lawyer. I currently work with the Law Chambers of Lamin AMS Jobarteh as a Lawyer. Ever since I started appearing in Court in 2019, my position as a Lawyer has allowed me to directly protect and promote Human Rights through uninterrupted and continous litigation before both the Subordinate and Superior courts of The Gambia.
I am a volunteer teacher at the African Center for Legal Research and Training, where I also serve as the Head of the Pro Bono Unit. In this position, I coordinate the provision of free legal services for vulnerable members of society who cannot afford legal services. I am also a Board Member for Center for Women's Rights and Economic Empowerment.
