Leyla is an advocate practising as such in Nairobi, Kenya and is an associate in the Dispute Resolution department at TripleOKLaw, LLP specializing in commercial litigation, employment & labour disputes, constitutional & human rights matters and disputes within the telecommunication sector. She is a certified mediator, an arbitrator and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. She was nominated for recognition as one of Africa’s 50 Most Promising Young Arbitration Practitioners in 2020, an initiative of the Association of Young Arbitrators (AYA). Leyla has co-authored a number of publications including the Kenyan Chapter of the International Comparative Legal Guide – Business Crime 2019; as well Kenya’s chapter, within The Legal 500 Comparative Guide on Bribery & Corruption 2019. She has a keen interest in trade and investment and her paper titled the ‘promise of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement and its effect to the future of the East African Community’ won the second position in the 2019 East African Young lawyers Essay Competition. Leyla emerged the winner of the Young Lawyer of the Year awards, 2020 in the Nairobi Legal Awards.
