Nelson holds an LLB (Bachelor of Laws) with Second Class (Upper) Honours from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, having graduated at the top of his class. He received the National Prize for Third Overall Best Student in Corporate Law Practice from the Nigerian Council of Legal Education and is admitted to practice law as a Barrister and Solicitor in Nigeria. Prior to undertaking the TILA Programme, Nelson worked with Solola & Akpana, a top-tier commercial law firm in Nigeria, providing legal advisory as well as dispute resolution and solicitor-support legal services to a wide range of domestic and foreign clients in diverse local and cross-border disputes and transactions. Nelson’s interests cut across Alternative Trade & Project Financing, Intellectual Property Law, International Trade & Investment Law and Fintech Law & Policy. Nelson brings practical and tech-focused perspectives and ideas towards improving trade and investment law and policy in Africa to the Programme.
