Taona holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Essex, United Kingdom. Prior to this degree he completed an internship with Bright Network focused on dispute resolution and client management, where he was tasked to conduct client interviews and document reviews. He also spent time working at DITSWHANELO which is the sole human rights centre in Botswana where he was tasked with document reviewing as well as writing press statements on Human Rights and the effects of COVID-19 on immigrants’ rights. His areas of interest include International Trade and Investment Law, Trade-remedies, and Copyright and Trademark law. He brings to the program great communication skills and a background in many different cultures all across Southern Africa including Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Botswana, and South Africa.
