For the first time, the Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition has taken place virtually in 2020.

Congratulations to the teams that qualified for the final of the 2020 edition of the World Moot:

  • Strathmore University, Kenya 
  • Kenyatta University School of Law, Kenya

The two teams will present their oral arguments to a panel of human rights experts and judges of international tribunals. The hypothetical case tackles contemporary global human rights issues.

The judges in the final round are as follows:

  • Judge Ivana Jelić of the European Court of Human Rights
  • Judge Raul Pangalangan of the International Criminal Court 
  • Professor Veronica Gomez, President of the Global Campus of Human Rights 
  • Professor Manfred Nowak, Secretary General of the Global Campus of Human Rights
  • Professor Christof Heyns, Member of the United Nations Human Rights Committee

The final round will be held virtually on 10 December 2020 at 12:00, South African Standard Time (11:00 CET).

The event will be open to the public and will be live streamed on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Por primera vez, la Competencia Mundial de Derechos Humanos Nelson Mandela ha tenido lugar de forma virtual en 2020.

Felicitaciones a los equipos que han clasificado a la ronda final de la edición 2020 de la Competencia Mundial:

  • Kenyatta University School of Law, Kenia

Los dos equipos presentarán sus argumentos oralmente ante un panel de expertos en derechos humanos y de jueces de tribunales internacionales. El caso hipotético aborda cuestiones contemporáneas y globales de derechos humanos.
