Previous experience

Jennifer is an experienced human rights advocate with a strong academic and professional background across different areas of human rights law, particularly disability rights. She has previously served as a Litigation Officer at Validity Foundation, where she was involved in strategic litigation to promote and protect the rights of persons with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities across Africa. Her work included litigation at national, sub-regional, and regional levels, as well as advocacy engagements before United Nations Treaty Bodies.

One of her standout achievements is her leadership in coordinating a coalition of civil society organisations that developed a draft resolution in 2024, which was subsequently adopted by the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights as Resolution on the Entry into Force and Implementation of the Protocols Rights on the Rights of Older Persons and Persons with Disabilities in Africa, ACHPR/Res.617 (LXXXI) 2024.

She has also served as a legal researcher and rapporteur in various consultancies focusing on human rights. In addition to her professional practice, Jennifer has undertaken specialised training in the intersection of Gender and Disability Justice and is also a Certified Professional Mediator.
