The Centre for Human Rights offers a two year LLM/MPhil Multidisciplinary Human Rights degree. The first year of the course consists of interactive lectures, while the second year of the course is devoted to writing the mini-dissertation. Students with a first degree in law are admitted into the LLM stream, while non-lawyers are admitted into the MPhil stream.

Art and human rights

Who can apply?

  • The LLM is open to individuals with an LLB degree or equivalent.
  • The MPhil is open to non-lawyers with at least an honours degree. In exceptional cases, a Bachelor’s degree is considered when coupled with years of experience in human rights work.

Course duration

Two years

Application deadline 

South African Students: 31 October 
International Students: 31 August
