Communications Coordinator HURIDOCS (Human Rights Information and Documentation Systems)

HURIDOCS is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join their diverse global team. Candidates should be passionate about human rights, interested in information management and technology, have a flair for design and excited to connect HURIDOCS with the world. HURIDOCS has experienced remarkable growth and internal restructuring over the past two years. Our hope is that the Communications Coordinator will build on recent initiatives to reposition and raise awareness about the organisation and its tools, resources and support services.The person who previously held the position is currently performing a different role at HURIDOCS and will remain the main point of contact for the Communications Coordinator.

2023-24 Ruth First Scholarship

The Ruth First Educational Trust and Durham University offer a scholarship to support a student from southern Africa taking a one-year taught course in the academic year 2023-24 leading to the award of a Master’s degree at Durham University.

The University will award to the successful candidate a tuition fee scholarship covering the full fees for the programme chosen. Through an agreement between the Trust and the University, the Scholar will receive a monthly allowance to cover living and other expenses for 12 months, as well as free accommodation and meals at St Chad’s College (the cost of which is shared between the Trust and the College). In 2022-23 the allowance is £525 per month and the value of the full-board accommodation is approximately £530 per month.

Programme Manager -  Initiative for Strategic Litigation in Africa (ISLA)

The Initiative for Strategic Litigation in Africa (ISLA) seeks a Francophone,  Feminist Lawyer and Programme Manager who is a confident self-starter looking to make a contribution to the advancement of human rights, especially in the field of women’s human rights and sexual rights. The key responsibility is to provide leadership for the implementation of all ISLA programs in Francophone Africa. The Manager will report to the Legal Director and will work closely with thematic lead lawyers in the Litigation Directorate, managers in the Legal Directorate, other ISLA staff, interns, and partners.

Preference will be given to qualifying women applicants.
Salary: This position offers a competitive salary of $60,000.00 per annum, (total cost to company, and commensurate with experience).
