Country / Where did you grow up:
Naivasha, Kenya

Academic qualifications:
LLB: University of Nairobi School of Law. Post Graduate Diploma: Kenya School of Law, Advocates Training Program.

Experience:
Wilson Macharia, an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, is a Senior Graduate Assistant at Strathmore University Law School. He coordinates the Public Participation Disability Inclusion Index Project, which seeks to enhance participation of PWDs in political and public life in Kenya. Until December 2019, he served as a Project Support Officer with the Agency for Disability and Development in Africa under the Inclusive Education project, aimed at implementing the Kenya Sector Policy for Learners and Trainees with Disabilities. He also served as a legal assistant at Oraro & Company Advocates, a top tier law firm in Nairobi Kenya. Wilson seats in the Caucus for Disability Rights Advocacy hosted by United Disabled Persons of Kenya (UDPK); has been involved in developing strategies for competency development in social risk management in Kenya under the World Bank; and is a member of the Reference Group which conducted a Baseline Research under the University of Nairobi School of Law Disability Rights Project. His goal is to build a career AROUND promoting the application of the Human Rights Based Approach with respect to inclusion from theory to practice in Kenya and Africa.
