This launch will take place alongside the Advanced Human Rights Course on: “African Human Rights System in Comparative Perspectives”, presented by the Centre for Human Rights. Participants will include members of the short course cohort, as well as representatives from various academic institutions joining virtually.
It provides raw data that shows evidence of the impact of treaties, enabling researchers to undertake further academic analysis on the topic. The database is developed from studies conducted in 2002 and later in 2022 on the topic which covered 20 countries, but aims to eventually cover all UN Member States. For this, it is dependent on the invaluable inputs and contributions of academics spread out across the globe - with the aim of showing the effect that the UN human rights treaty system has made since its inception. Join us for the first public viewing of this resource, and we hope that you will consider making contributions from your country onto the database.
All registered participants will receive the meeting link via email
