The Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa (HRDA) Alumni Association of the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, proposes to organise a specialised blog writing workshop as its inaugural activity for 2025. This event aims to enhance the professional writing skills of HRDA alumni and current students while fostering knowledge exchange on human rights topics across Africa.

RATIONALE

Effective communication of human rights issues through professional blogging is an essential skill for human rights practitioners. This workshop addresses the need for HRDA alumni and students to develop their capacity to contribute meaningfully to public discourse on human rights matters through accessible yet substantive written content.

OBJECTIVES

  • Equip participants with practical blog writing skills for human rights advocacy.
  • Create networking opportunities between alumni and current HRDA students.
  • Establish a foundation for creating an HRDA Blog and contributing to AfricLaw and the Global Campus Human Rights Preparedness Blog.
