Annual Conference
The Disability Rights Unit, Centre for Human Rights hosts an annual conference on disability rights in an African context during the first week of November.

Law Schools Project in Africa
The Disability Rights Unit, Centre for Human Rights coordinates the law schools project, aimed at promoting disability rights awareness, education and scholarship in Africa.

COVID-19 Disability Rights Monitoring
With the endorsement of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Health, Dainius Pūras, a coalition of six disability rights organisations including the Disability Rights Unit has launched a major international monitoring initiative, COVID-19 Disability Rights Monitor to conduct rapid independent monitoring of state measures concerning persons with disabilities.

Disability Rights in the African Context
The course is part of the Centre’s efforts in promoting disability rights in Africa by raising awareness about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CPRD) (2006) and the newly adopted Protocol to the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Africa (2018).
