About Julius Osega

The lecture is presented to recognise, acknowledge and commemorate human rights defenders from all sectors of society, especially the Kenyan Defence Forces personnel who lost their lives in the El Adde attack in Somalia.
 
The late Julius Osega, a human rights defender and alumnus of the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, passed away on 8 July 2008 while in the line of duty, working for the United Nations Mission in Darfur, Sudan.
