Following President Cyril Ramaphosa's speech on 15 March 2020, the Executive Management of the University of Pretoria has decided to suspend contact classes, graduation ceremonies, conferences, mass gatherings and events.
As a result of this suspension, the Centre for Human Rights has decided to postpone the following upcoming events:
- Master's Programmes Welcoming Ceremony which was scheduled for 20 March 2020;
- Advanced Human Rights Course on Women's Rights in Africa which was scheduled for 23 - 27 March 2020; and
- Public Lecture on Silencing the Guns in Africa by 2020 which was scheduled for 24 March 2020.
The Centre is committed to the well-being of our staff, students, partners, friends and colleagues and urges them to handle this pandemic with care, empathy and humanity.
