The Centre for Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria invites experts working on climate, environmental law, and migration to submit an expression of interest for a joint research project within the framework of Global Campus of Human Rights, which is a network of institutions providing human rights education and training. The Global Campus has 8 regional hubs and the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria is the regional headquarters for Africa within this network.

The research project
A description of the project is attached. Two separate work streams are envisaged in the project:
- Global Climate Governance
- Climate-Induced Migration
Requirements
For your application to be considered, kindly submit the following:
- A CV clearly demonstrating scientific publications and/or other professional experience relevant to the selected research project (Global Climate Governance and/or Climate-Induced Migration).
- A research proposal of no more than one page, briefly describing the expected contribution to one or both research projects.
- The researcher(s) will receive an all-inclusive fee of EUR 6,000 for each of the two workstreams.
- Travel and accommodation costs related to project events will be covered by the Global Campus of Human Rights.

Modalities of the research project
- All selected researchers will be invited to a first in-person meeting to be scheduled in September.
- All travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the Global Campus.
- Each Research Team shall develop, with the assistance of Global Campus Head Quarters (GCHQ), a detailed research plan and the distribution of tasks and deliverables between the members of the Research Teams.
- Each Research Team shall also elect a lead researcher who will coordinate the Research Team in close cooperation with the Secretary General and Senior Management at GCHQ. The lead researchers will receive additional remuneration for their coordinating role.
