Experience

I have worked across legal practice, legal journalism and advocacy work, which has shaped my interest in how the law operates in practice and whether it responds to lived realities. I completed my pupillage, where I gained practical experience in legal research, drafting and litigation support across land, corporate and constitutional matters. I served as the Chief of Staff for Correspondents at JURIST News (2023-2025). In this role, I coordinated members and wrote dispatches and commentaries on Kenyan and global legal and political matters. The role exposed me to contemporary issues in international law and governance.

I also worked with Threading Change as Global Innovation Story Map (GISM) Coordinator, where I used storytelling to highlight sustainability issues in the Textile Industry. I helped build a network of brands working towards achieving sustainability in the industry and contributed to advocacy for more sustainable approaches within the sector. As the GISM coordinator, I organised an exhibition on textile sustainability during UNEA-7 where I also delivered a speech on the importance of a just transition when it comes to advancing sustainability in the textile sector.

Academic fields of interest:

My academic interest lies with human rights, particularly political rights and democratic governance, with a focus on how the law responds to the lived realities in African contexts.
