The aim of this dialogue is to contribute to UP’s various initiatives to foster a culture of diversity. In light of the recent xenophobic attacks in South Africa, the dialogue is a platform to critically analyse the National Action Plan to Combat Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and related Intolerances and to collectively explore pragmatic ways and interventions in which both the state and non-state actors can counter xenophobia within our borders.
Anti-discrimination week has been established to prevent discrimination in all its forms on all its campuses. UP endorses a culture in which diversity is seen as an asset, to be embraced and celebrated, and effective steps are taken to prevent and act against discrimination.
