Ms Jane Connors United Nations' first Victims' Rights Advocate, was on a visit to South Africa to explore ways of dealing with alleged sexual abuse by South African soldiers while part of a Umiyed Nation's peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO)

In the photo, she is together with Frans Viljoen, the Director, and Lloyd Kuveya, the Assistant Director of the Centre, at the chestnut tree planted in memory of Professor Christof Heyns, who passed away in March 2021.
When Christof was UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary, or arbitrary executions killings between 2010 and 2016, Ms. Connors was the head of the Chief of the Special Procedures Branch at the Office of the High. Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva.
