Previous Experience

Michelle first worked at Zimbabwe Women's Lawyers Association as a legal officer, providing legal support to women in need. She then transitioned to Deaf Zimbabwe Trust where she was instrumental in the establishment of the Disability Rights Law Centre and worked to promote the rights of persons with disabilities through public policy analysis, strategic litigation, provision of legal aid and advocacy. She also worked as a consultant at Zimbabwe Women's Resource Centre & Network, giving advice on how to properly advocate for women and PWDs. She worked with women in rural communities and did community education on access to rights. She has written articles on leadership, youth participation and inclusion. She has also worked for the AU Goodwill Ambassador on Ending Child Marriages and at Rozaria Memorial Trust, she is in charge of overseeing the Programmes and Communications portfolio.  She has experience in capacity building, community organizing, coalition building and strengthening, creation of citizen agency through movement building, development and maintenance of strategic partnership, legislative and policy analysis, and evidence-based advocacy at local and regional levels.
