Previous experience
A graduate of the University of Zimbabwe, I am a seasoned legal and compliance practitioner with half a decade of experience in the Zimbabwean financial services sector. I served as the Legal Research Officer for POSB before assuming the Assistant Legal and Regulatory AML/FCC/ CTF Compliance Manager office within the Old Mutual (Zimbabwe) space, working in CABS, a leading commercial bank and building society. My experience, covers legal advisory to stakeholders on local and international partnership and projects.i have competences in anti money laundering implementation, compliance framework management, strategy formulation, team leadership, corporate governance practice, and policy implementation. Through this, I have had insight into the interface between corporate finance and governmental policies, and how marginalized communities and businesses remain the heartbeat of economic resurgence their vast potential. For that, I have an interest in ensuring maximum support for them through informed national policy formulation. TILA is an avenue to this.
In addition to the LLBS, I am working towards a Masters in Science in Strategic Leadership and Corporate Governance and a Masters of Laws from Liverpool John Moore University through UNICAF. I hold several professional certifications in compliance management, illicit financial flows, and data privacy, and will pursue the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist certification.
Outside of the law, I am passionate about the sustainable development of communities and partner with several cooperates to bring to life my charity organization, Meal Drive Harare.
Academic fields of interest:
My primary areas of academic interest are in illicit financial flows, anti money laundering regulation, international investment law, international tax law and international finance law.
