Country / Where did you grow up:
Zambia

Academic qualifications:
LLB, University of Zambia, Zambia

Experience:
Prior my admission to the Zambian Bar, 12 years ago, I interned for Legal Resources Foundation, an NGO that promotes the respect of human rights in Zambia. As an intern, i was posted in community-based centres to engage the public on issues related to human rights as well as render free legal advice. Post admission, I joined a private law firm which had a bias towards child rights litigation. Apart from attending to walk-in clients, i had conduct of active cases before the court. This exposed me to child rights law. After serving for two years, I enlisted in the Zambia Army and served as a Legal officer for four years. My duties involved rendering legal advice to the command structure of the Army as well as prosecute court-martial cases. On leaving the Army, I joined the Judiciary of Zambia as a research advocate, a position i am still holding. My duties mainly involve rendering opinions to a constitutional court judge on active matters before the court. Further, i hold the position of district registrar of the High Court for Zambia. As a district registrar, i have jurisdiction over procedural issues arising from inactive cases.

Academic fields of interest:
Human rights and Social Justice

Position prior to the programme:
Senior Research Advocate/District Registrar
