Previous Experience
Joweri is a young intersectional Feminist with six years experience of working with nonprofit organisations in research, advocacy and programme implementation and management with a focus on advancing gender justice and adolescent & youth sexual reproductive health in Uganda, and Africa.
Joweri works as a Programme Officer with Irise Institute East Africa, a Women’s rights organization in Kampala Uganda where she coordinates programmes on Feminist Leadership Development for grassroots young women organisations as well as national and regional SRHR advocacy.
Joweri holds a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from Makerere University. Additionally, she is a certified gender equality specialist by the Digital Frontiers Institute at the Centre for Sexualities, AIDS and Gender, University of Pretoria and an alumna of the Young African Leaders Initiative (East Africa).
