Joyce holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) First Class Honours from Kenyatta University (Kenya). She also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and a Certificate in Advanced ICSID Arbitration from the University of Cologne (Germany). She is a MasterCard Foundation Scholar at the University of Pretoria, 2021. Prior to the programme, she worked as a lawyer at Kaplan & Stratton Advocates (Nairobi, Kenya) specializing in dispute resolution and intellectual property. Her areas of interest include International Dispute Resolution, International Trade and Investment Law, Intellectual Property Law, Regional Integration and Human Rights Law. She brings to the program innovative ideas towards promoting sustainable development, human rights and gender equality in trade and investment policy in Africa.
