Previous experience

Professional Experience:
Human Rights & Treaties: I currently serve in the Division of Human Rights, where I provide legal advice to the government on human rights protection and prepare national reports for bodies such as the UN Human Rights Council and the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights.

Government Advisory: I have drafted, reviewed, and interpreted laws and policies related to human rights and monitored government compliance with international treaty obligations.

Prosecution & Litigation: I spent nearly seven years as a State Attorney with the National Prosecutions Services, conducting criminal prosecutions and handling appeals in the High Court.

Legal Aid & Public Service: I have provided legal representation to indigent persons and advised on policies regarding access to justice.

High-Level Administration: I have served as a Personal Assistant to the Minister, Deputy Minister, and Permanent Secretary, managing official engagements and coordinating communication between government departments.

Academic Background:
Master of Laws (LL.M): Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of Dar es Salaam (2015).
Postgraduate Diploma: Legal Practice from the Law School of Tanzania (2014).
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons): From Tumaini University Iringa (2012).

Specialised Training:
I have completed several international workshops, including:
Cybercrime Investigations and Electronic Evidence with the U.S. Department of Justice.
Wildlife Crime and Financial Investigations with UNODC and RUSI.
Intellectual Property Rights with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Academic fields of interest:

1. Human Rights Law This is my current primary area of focus. I serve as a Principal State Attorney in the Division of Human Rights, where I provide legal advice to the government on the protection, promotion, and enforcement of human rights. My work includes: Conducting legal research on constitutional, international, and regional human rights obligations. Monitoring government compliance with international human rights treaties and reporting obligations. Preparing national reports for bodies such as the UN Human Rights Council and the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights. 2. Corporate and Commercial Law I hold a Masters of Laws (LL.M) in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of Dar es Salaam (2014–2015). My professional experience in this field includes: Providing expert opinions on laws relating to business undertakings and employment. Drafting and reviewing various contractual documents, lease agreements, and security documents. Managing corporate compliance tasks such as filing annual returns and registering trademarks at BRELA. 3. Criminal Law and Prosecution I have extensive experience in the criminal justice system, having served as a State Attorney for the National Prosecutions Services for nearly seven years. My expertise include: Conducting prosecutions in District Courts, Resident Magistrate Courts, and the High Court. Handling criminal appeals and providing legal opinions on criminal cases. Specialized training in investigating and prosecuting trafficking in persons, cybercrime, and wildlife crime. 4. Natural Wealth and Resources Law I have specialized experience in the legal frameworks governing extractive industries. This involves: Researching national and international laws affecting natural resources. Reviewing legislation to ensure compliance with constitutional provisions regarding natural wealth. Drafting legal opinions on the investment and management of natural resources. 5. Land Law Early in my career, I gained academic and practical insight into land law during an internship with the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development. I conducted research on land laws and housing regulations and provided legal advice on land-related matters.
