Previous experience

I hold an LLB degree in Law and have five years of experience in the civil society sector, focusing on research and the protection of human rights defenders. I worked as an Assistant Researcher and Trial Monitoring Officer at the Association for Human Rights (AHRE) in Ethiopia, and later as a Protection and Research Officer, and subsequently Manager, at the Ethiopian Human Rights Defenders Center (EHRDC). From 2018, I also served for three years as an Assistant Lecturer at Wollo University School of Law, where I taught International Humanitarian Law, African Union Law and Human Rights, and coached students in moot court competitions. I have actively participated in moot court competitions and won awards at both national and international levels, including the All African IHL Moot Court Competition and recognition at the Christof Heyns African Human Rights Moot Court Competition.
