Sorie Kamara is a Sierra Leonean with a Master's in Governance and Regional Integration from PAUGHSS, and holds a First Class Honours Degree in Political Science from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone.
As a Human Rights Defender, Administrator, and Researcher, Sorie has worked for the African Union Commission, UNFPA, WANEP, Inspiration Lifeline, Restless Development, Ministry of External Relations in Cameroon, and Sierra Leone Muslim Brotherhood Senior Secondary School, on issues of gender inequality, teenage pregnancy, early marriage, and other youth, women, and child-related matters. Offering technical and vocational training, and advocating for the rights and well-being of youths, women, children, and those in minorities, helping them attain their full potentials and enjoy their desired rights.
He outsources funding and mobilizes resources through crowd-funding and proposal writing, to support orphans, slum dwellers, disabled, and widows.
His interests in humanitarian work and volunteerism grow exponentially, having realized the transformative impacts they have on the lives of women, children, minority groups, institutions, and society in general. He facilitated the development and harmonization of policies on gender mainstreaming, disability rights, women empowerment, youth and child rights issues. He designed and implemented projects that fight against discrimination, promote human rights, and transform the socio-economic, political and cultural conditions of affected victims for the better.
