Previous experience
Development, a non-governmental organisation in Sierra Leone working to end violence against women and girls, in 2020, a position that I still occupy. In 2023, I was called to the Sierra Leone Bar as a barrister and solicitor of the superior courts of judicature in Sierra Leone, and I did my pupillage at Tejan-Cole, Yillah and Partners, one of the reputable law firms in Sierra Leone. While doing my pupillage, I also interned as a legal researcher and rapporteur at the Residual Special Court for Sierra Leone under the supervision of the Principal Defender of the Residual Special Court for Sierra Leone and the vice chairman of the Trust Fund for Victims at the International Criminal Court. I presently run an online platform called Dissent, which is a hub for promoting free speech and advocating for social justice and democracy in Sierra Leone.
I hold certificates in several short courses, namely: Pomoting and Protecting Human Rights: a Global Overview, from the Global Campus of Human Rights; Key Essentials: the Global Biodiversity Framework Sustainable Development and the Law from the University of Cambridge; Advocacy from the Inns of Court College of Advocacy; International Refugee Law from the International Institute of Humanitarian Law; Children's Rights and Technology in the Digital Age from the Global Campus of Human Rights; Business and Human Rights from the Global Campus of Human Rights; International Criminal Law from Case Western University; Advanced Human Rights Course on Forcibly Displaced Persons; and Social Protection for Sustainable Development from the United Nations System Staff College.
Academic fields of interest:
I am interested in International Humanitarian law; International Criminal Law; Intellectual property and Competition law and Human Rights Law.
