Mr Solomon Joskine Kwashie Atsuvia | Takoradi, Western Region of the Republic of Ghana
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), University of Cape Coast (awarded degree), hosted by Wisconsin International University College, Ghana, 2023.
Previous experience
I have accumulated both academic and professional experience in the field of human rights, gender and sexual rights advocacy, and global health.
Academic fields of interest:
My academic fields of interest primarily center around Human Rights, Social Justice, LGBTIQ+ Rights, Global Health, and Intersectionality. I am particularly focused on sexual and gender minority rights, with an emphasis on advancing equity, dignity, and access to health for marginalized populations. Given my work on the Digital Health and Rights Project (DHRP), I am deeply interested in the intersection of human rights, technology, and digital governance in the context of health. Additionally, I am passionate about policy advocacy, social inclusion, and capacity building within both local and international human rights frameworks. I am also keen on exploring global health policies that intersect with human rights, particularly how HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and care programs impact the LGBTIQ+ community. My academic background, coupled with my professional experiences, have driven my interest in advocacy for marginalized groups and human rights law in Africa, especially in the context of SOGIESC rights (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sex Characteristics).
