Previous experience

I am a social researcher trained in the social sciences (i.e. psychology and criminology). I have a combined fourteen (14) years of experience in research gained through the field of (a) crime prevention research (working as a Research Assistant at the Council for Scientific & Industrial Research (2008 -2009); (b) Criminology research (working as a Post-Graduate Research Assistant at UNISA's Department of Criminology between 2009 - 2011 and as an independent contractor for research methodology in criminology – 3rd-year module between 2011 to 2014); (c) policing research and policy development to inform legislative drafting (working as Assistant Director at the Civilian Secretariat for Police between 2011-2016); and (c) currently (2016 – to date) working at the Public Service Commission as Deputy Director Programme Evaluations responsible for conducting institutional evaluations and research into key government strategic programmes in relation to Section 195 of the Constitution of South Africa and other founding values and principles within the Constitution (i.e. Bill of Rights).
